KEY CHARACTERISTICS AND ADVANTAGES
Excellent Dispersion: The bundled form
prevents balling, ensuring a uniform distribution of fibers in the mix.
High Tensile Strength: Polypropylene
has high tensile strength, which is transferred to the concrete composite.
Chemical Inertness: PP is highly
resistant to alkalis, chlorides, and other chemicals found in concrete, making
it non-corrosive.
Improved Impact & Fatigue
Resistance: The 3D network of filaments absorbs energy, significantly
improving the concrete's resistance to impact, shock, and cyclic loading.
Reduced Shrinkage Cracking: The fibers
inhibit the formation of plastic and drying shrinkage cracks by providing
internal restraint.
Spalling Resistance: In fire
conditions, PP fibers melt, creating micro-channels that allow moisture vapor
to escape, reducing explosive spalling in high-performance concrete.
Lightweight: PP has a low density, so
it adds minimal weight to the concrete.
PRIMARY APPLICATIONS
Twist Bundled PP Fibers are used as an
alternative to or in conjunction with traditional steel mesh (welded wire
fabric) in a wide range of applications:
Industrial Floors: Warehouses,
factories, and distribution centers where high impact and abrasion resistance
are critical.
Pavements and Slabs-on-Ground: To
control shrinkage cracking and improve durability.
Shotcrete (Gunite): For tunnel
linings, swimming pools, and slope stabilization. The fibers prevent rebound
and add toughness.
Precast Elements: Pipes, panels, and
blocks benefit from the improved handling strength and crack control.
Overlays and Toppings: For repairing
or resurfacing existing concrete slabs.
